How Does the Plugin Work?

WP Compress was built to make all of your images and assets load lightning-fast across the entire globe, as images are the #1 cause for slow loading websites, which leads to users stuck waiting. Lightning-fast images can lead to increased website performance, lower bounce rates, better Search Engine rankings and more conversions!

WP Compress has two optimization modes, Local and Live - based on your preferences and needs.

Using Live Compression Mode, your images are securely backed up and optimized in the compression cloud, then only the smaller, light-weight images are served to your viewers from our exclusive hybrid CDN network.

Using Local Compression Mode, you may select the backup location (cloud or local) then your images are optimized either in bulk or individually in the media library. You then may serve them locally from your website or media library, or use a third party CDN/Cloud as normal.

In this case, the smaller optimized images are saved on your server and if you were to deactivate the plugin, they'd maintain in that state.

You may locally compress your images, then switch to live mode for the added benefits of our lightning-fast infrastructure and hybrid CDN - in this case you'd have the optimized images on your server, saving space as well as if you run out of credits for the month, the locally optimized images will serve!
